Radiotelescope

Introduction

A project I have been working on, off and on, for about the last two years is the construction of a horn-based radiotelescope for detection of the hydrogen 21 cm line. My desire was to use my Shapeoko CNC router/mill to construct the horn, and then to receive the signal on an RTLSDR. Eventually, I would like an autonomous robotic mount to move the horn, with reception on an RTLSDR coupled to a Raspberry Pi, with the Pi relaying the signal over ethernet to a computer indoors for analysis. I don’t know if I’ll actually get all this done, but it’s a target for this work.
